These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things…(November: Audio-books, Apps, and Make-up)

Did you know I love trying new things and then sharing my opinion about those things with other people? It’s true. What better way to share my favorite things, than a post dedicated to just that, some of my favorite things. So, I thought I would try to, semi-regularly, review a few things that you may (or may not) be interested in checking out, and why I like them. Here goes…

Audio books. Ok, I have to admit, recently, I’ve been enjoying audio books so much that when I realize a book is not in audio form and I actually have to read it, I’m a little bummed. Or lazy, probably both. I have managed to consume A LOT of books this past year and part of the reason for that has been audio books (I will be making a detailed list of all the books I’ve read this year, soon). It started with a free trial subscription to Audible, which they offer to everyone. And then I found that our local library started offering audio books through Hoopla Digital, for free. Up to 12 items per month. This includes audio books, ebooks, magazines, music, movies, etc. This service has been a game changer for me. Check with your local library and see if they offer this service too. Chances are they do, or will soon. Some books are better to read, while others are great to listen too. I like a good mix of both.

100% Pure. Natural Make-up and skin care. Years ago I started switching to natural and organic products, and avoiding toxic and petroleum-based things. Except for make-up. For some reason that has been a hard transition for me. Maybe because I’ve used the same products for many years, and wasn’t sure I would find something that worked as well, or maybe because of the ease of grabbing things at a nearby store. I finally started converting my make-up this past summer and I have loved everything I’ve used from 100% Pure.  Here is the list of products I’ve tried so far: Brightening Serum, Fruit Pigmented Long Lasting Concealer, Luminous Primer, Fruit Pigmented Cream Stick Eye Liner, Fruit Pigmented Chiffon Blush, Fruit Pigmented Satin Eye Shadow, Nail polish, Fruit Pigmented Oil Anti Aging Lipstick, Blackest Creamy Long Lasting Liner and Maracuja Mascara in Black Tea.

They have a satisfaction guarantee. I’ve only had one issue, when I tried their Fruit Pigmented Ultra Lengthening Mascara in Black tea, which contained wheat (and I hadn’t realized), it made my eyelids itchy. Their customer service was great, and promptly replaced it with the Maracuja Mascara. I loved both mascaras, but obviously prefer the one that doesn’t make my eyelids itch 😉 I still have tons of things I want to try. Check out my referral link here:

REFNET (Reformation Network)Internet radio committed to historic Christian faith. A Reformed radio station! They have preaching, teaching, scripture, news, music and audio books. You can easily download the app on your phone or listen online. They have a program schedule so you don’t miss out on things you want to listen to. I’ve been particularly enjoying sermons (I love them and listen often), Morning and Evening devotionals by C.H. Spurgeon, a news segment with Albert Mohler and a few hymns sprinkled in.

I hope you enjoyed short reviews in this format. If there’s something in particular you would like me to review, let me know, and I’ll be happy to share my thoughts.
